Barnsley Women’s FC won 2-1 in their top-of-the-table clash at Hull City last night to go clear in first place but say ‘we’re not getting carried away.’

Amy Beck was the goal-scoring star, putting the Reds in front then netting the winner after Hull equalised.

They are now three points clear at the top of National League Division One North having won six and drawn one of their seven games so far.

Coach Lois Daniels said: “It was an excellent performance from my girls for 90 minutes.

“We knew it would be challenging but we deserved to win.

“It was a big game but it’s not worth six or five points, it’s only worth three.

“We don’t need to get carried away, it’s just another game.

“But we’re showing a lot of character. We trust each other and there is a lot of quality.”
