BARNSLEY man Jack Shutt has been released by Yorkshire CCC.

The 26-year-old spinner from Elsecar has played 32 matches for the club across all formats having come through the academy. His contract expired at the end of October.

Yorkshire’s managing director of cricket Darren Gough said: “Unfortunately, we only have a limited squad size and have to make difficult decisions at this time of year as we look to continue to improve our playing squad. Will and Jack (Fraine) have always represented the club with pride and have been model professionals in their time with us.

“We thank them for their service with Yorkshire Cricket and we would like to wish them every success for the future.”
