BARNSLEY will be covered in glitter as local drag queens prepare to bring a modern musical to the Lamproom Theatre.
Local nightclub Funny Gals is sponsoring Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which will run from Tuesday May 7 to Saturday May 11.
Based on the 1994 film of the same name, the jukebox musical follows the adventures of three drag queens who travel across the Australian desert in their lavender bus, named Priscilla.
Ashley Booker, the show’s director added: “Priscilla is one of my favourite musicals.
“It brings together iconic tunes, a heartwarming story and glitter galore.
“When I directed Legally Blonde we turned the sold-out theatre pink - this year I’m very excited to do the same with Priscilla, but this time fill the theatre with drag queens, sparkle and rainbows.”
