BARNSLEY Hockey Club's men could take the league title this weekend if results go their way.

They won 1-0 at home to Sheffield University Bankers, stretching their unbeaten run to 15 games.

That left them top of Yorkshire Peak and Wold Division One, three points clear of second-placed Lindum 4 who have played a game more.

Barnsley have three games to play starting at home to Lindum 5 on Saturday. They need four points for the title but, if they win and their chasers don’t, they will clinch it this weekend.

Captain James Shaw missed a penalty then Max Hirst saved one at the other end.

Conor Massey netted his 15th goal of the season in the second half.
