POLICE have launched an investigation following a reported burglary in Hoyland last month.

It’s reported that at around 10.58pm, on Sunday March 17, a property on Wood Walk had been broken into.

It is alleged that an Audi Q5 had been stolen along with sentimental pieces of distinctive jewellery.

An investigation has since been launched and the vehicle has since been recovered and returned to its owners.

Two men aged 19 and 21 were arrested on suspicion of burglary and have both since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

We are asking for the public’s help to locate the pieces of jewellery which were reportedly stolen from the address in Wood Walk.

It includes a silver and gold watch as well as various necklaces and rings.

PC Dan Baker said: “We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry and although the car has been recovered we are now keen to trace the pieces of jewellery as they are of great sentimental value to the owners.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 1040 of March 17.
