AN ATHERSLEY couple celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Stanley and Muriel Davison, of Black Heath Road, Athersley South, both 81, married on March 13 1954 and lived at Sunderland Terrace for the first part of their marriage.
Muriel was born at School Street, Old Town, and worked for many years at Brook Motors, Barugh Green.
Stanley, born at Heeley Street, Barnsley, worked for 34 years as a miner at Redbrook and Dodworth, finishing as a pit deputy.
They have one daughter, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
