THE Lime Hair and Beauty salon in Hoyland Common held a charity day for Macmillan nurses - inspired by beautician Tracy Walmsley who has been battling pancreatic cancer for 13 years.

Mum Tracy, 44, of Grimethorpe, works at the salon on Hoyland Road two days a week. She goes for regular treatment at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield, has scans every three months and chemotherapy tablets, and is looked after by a Macmillan nurse.

She offers services like nail treatments, waxing and eyelash tinting at the salon.

The charity day also acted as a launch for the salon, which only opened eight weeks ago. Among the attractions on the day were a raffle with 30 prizes, goodie bags and cupcakes.

Salon owner Tracey Harrison, 41, said: "We had a great time and raised £287."
