Elsecar Park Cafe is to open its doors today for the first time in more than a year.
June Turner, 53, and partner Brian Hudson, 55, will be opening from 10am today as the new tenants.
They are living in the cafe and will be providing hot food to customers as well as letting visitors try their hand at pitch and putt and crazy golf.
June, formerly of Greenside Lane, Hoyland, ran a cafe in Sheffield and grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
"It's very important to get the cafe back up and running when see how many people have been using this park with no cafe and complaining they want to have a cup of tea, it's been hard not being able to give them one," she said.
June said the park was was an important part of the community and wanted it to continue to be family orientated.
"I came here as a kid, I brought my children here and I still walk my dog here so I do use it a lot," she said.
The building has been freshened up including new tables and chairs in the cafe and June is also hoping to offer a service to fishermen using Elsecar reservoir.
The cafe was closed in November 2011 when previous tenant, Francis McDonald, had his lease terminated after firing a shotgun to scare of troublesome youths in the park.
The Chronicle reported in September that a new occupier had been found. June said paperwork and improvements to the building had meant the delay in it opening.
