A COUPLE from Worsbrough has raised £1,257 for Barnsley Hospital in memory of the son who was stillborn.

Rachel and Jonathan Boldy set up the Kai's Tiny Wings appeal in memory of their son Kai, who was born in August 2012.

It aims to raise awareness of stillbirth and raise funds for the newly-refurbished Rainbow Room on the children's ward.

The room is reserved for bereaved parents where they can spend time with their child thanks to the use of cold cots.

Rachel said: "We are really pleased with the response and support we've had for our appeal, we look forward to organising further events in the future."

Rachel and Jonathan raised the money for Barnsley Hospital Charity by holding an evening with medium Pietro Politano and by organising a music event.

The couple has another young son, Keegan, and they continue to raise funds for the appeal by selling cards and jewellery.
