A FATHER will cycle 170 miles to raise money for a children's cancer charity which supported his family after his son was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer.

Andrew Hawkins, of Park View, Worsbrough Bridge, and seven of his friends set off from Morecambe on Saturday and head to Bridlington.

Andrew's son Jack, ten, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in December 2012.

Andrew said he wanted to raise money for the Parents' Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia, which is based at Sheffield Children's Hospital, because of the help and support given to Jack and his family.
