DARRYL Hand has done some pretty silly things for charity - he has worn ridiculous outfits, swam for a mile fully dressed, gone ape as a gorilla and tackled all kinds of stupid stunts wearing some rather silly outfits.

But he admits his latest fundraiser was a lot more serious and a lot more scary.

Darryl, 26, from Rowan Close, Highgate, an NVQ teacher, completed a tandem parachute jump from 15,000ft to raise funds for Bluebell Wood children's hospice.

Darryl was joined on what he describes as a 'petrifying challenge' by his mate 23-year-old Alex Burgin from Low Valley.

Between them they have already raised more than £1,200 in sponsorship and say they hope to add even more to that total.
