Dickie Bird makes huge donation to children's hospital

BIG hearted Dickie Bird recently visited Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London to make a £30,000 donation.
After presenting staff with a cheque Dickie spent time on the Eagle Ward meeting children and their parents.
The Eagle Ward specialises in caring for children with renal conditions.
Dickie said: "Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital has always inspired me, and meeting the children and the staff and seeing for myself the great work they do was a wonderful experience that I will never forget."
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
