IMAGES have been released of two men wanted in connection with an assault at a Thurlstone man's home.

E-fit pictures were produced by police after the 51-year-old victim was hit with a black kosh by two men who entered his property.

The first offender is described as being white, in his late 20s or early 30s, around 5ft 10ins and of slim build. He had mousey blond hair and wore a grey hooded top and jeans.

The second man, who was not involved with the assault, is described as being white, around the same age as the other man, between 5ft 11ins and 6ft, and of heavy build. He had mousey brown hair and wore a dark blue hooded top and dark trousers.

The men claimed to be looking for a man the victim did not know as they entered the property and were told to leave before the attack was carried out.

Police believe the offenders were not known by the victim and the incident was a case of mistaken identity.

The victim suffered swelling and bruising to his right upper arm during the assault, on the evening of Saturday May 24.
