Haiti international defender Lecsinel Jean-Francois is in the middle of a two-week trial at Oakwell and played for the under 21s against Coventry on Monday.

The 27-year-old, who has played mainly at left-back in the past but was centre-back on Monday, worked with Wilson at Swindon Town and Sheffield United.

One of a series of injuries meant he missed the end of last season and was released by the Blades. He then had a trial at Bramall Lane last month but Nigel Clough decided not to sign him.

Wilson told the Chronicle : "He is no where near fit but his injury situation means that we can probably have a look at him for as long as we want within reason.

"I know him very well. He is strong, he can head the ball well and he has a very good left foot. I like Lecsi a lot. He has got limitations like everybody has but he is reliable."
