A £28 MILLION funding bid to improve the road network around M1 junction 36 and lay the infrastructure for a new employment park has made it through to the next stage of the approval process.
The Sheffield City Region Investment Fund (SCRIF) application is part of the Sheffield City Region Enterprise zone.
Coun Roy Miller said: "It's been identified as the top priority and has beaten all the competition hands down. We're just waiting now."It will bring excellent employment opportunities to the borough and I'm extremely confident we will get the go-ahead very soon."
