MORGAN Bailey likes nothing better than playing on the specially adapted trike when she is at Greenacre school.
The five-year-old was born with cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological condition which causes floppy muscle tone and severely restricts her movement.
When she is at home in Silkstone Common a trip to the local shop with her mum Emma means Morgan has to be pushed in a wheelchair.
If she is feeling particularly strong and up to the challenge plucky Morgan tackles the journey using a specialist walking frame.
But what she would like more than anything else is to be slightly more independent and be able to ride a trike - just like the one at school.
Now that dream has moved a little closer with the launch of a fund-raising campaign to raise £1,100 to buy Morgan the trike of her dreams.
Meayla Woodward's daughter Briony, died from cancer aged three in 2007. In her memory a charity Briony's Gift was set up to help other poorly children.
When Meayla, from Staincross Common, heard about Morgan she decided she had to help.
Meayla explained: "Although Briony's Gift focusses mainly on children with cancer, the charity's aims are actually to support children with life limiting and life threatening illnesses and conditions.
"When we heard about and met Morgan I decided immediately we had to help."
A fund-raising family night was held on Friday.
