SPOOKY goings on at the former Blockbusters in Wombwell have been investigated by a new group of 'ghostbusters'.

The South Yorkshire Amateur Paranormal Society conducted its first investigation at the shop on Station Road after being called by new tenants RADAR dog rescue who became alarmed by things going bump in the night.

Founder Gari Lee, 45, of Moorbridge Crescent, Brampton, explained its findings.

"We used something called a spirit box and discovered a spirit called Fred. There was a bad atmosphere on the top floor and a very aggressive spirit."

Gari set up the group earlier this year after being unable to find anything similar.

"People can read into this what they like, I really don't mind," he said, laughing off scepticism.

"We are arranging a sleepover at the shop next month in aid of charity and people are welcome to join us."
