The daughter of a former Penistone Grammar School teacher has raised £1,500 for a cancer charity from a skydive in memory of her mum.
Sarah Totty, 20, of Skinpit Lane, Hoylandswaine, fell 13,000 feet at an airfield near Nottingham.
The dive was in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer following the death of mum Gill in December.Gill, 51, died two days before Christmas after teaching English at the Grammar School for ten years.
"I wanted to do it in memory of my mum," said Sarah. "It was quite emotional."
She added: "I thought I was going to be really nervous but the adrenaline took over and I was more excited than nervous.
"I absolutely loved it . My stomach felt as if I was on an extreme rollercoaster."
The tandem jump had a freefall lasting 51 seconds with Sarah and her instructor falling at 130mph.
She was accompanied on the trip by friend Katie Beever, 20.
Dad Steve, who collected money for the event at work, said: "She's done really well. It's no easy task jumping out of a plane at that height."
Sarah plans to go Kirklees College in September to train as air cabin crew.
She is hoping to do another fundraising event next year but said she needs to think of a way to top her skydive.
