HONESTY, they say, is the best policy.

Unfortunately in this day and age it's unusual to find someone quite as honest as Andrew Levitt. And it's a great pity that the lad's saintly ways seem to have been taken for granted.

Andrew, 29, an IT specialist who works at Barnsley Hospital, found a bulging wallet with £725 outside the Court House pub - but despite handing it in, he's yet to receive a thankyou from the owner.

Police informed Andrew the owner had claimed the wallet which contained the loot that had been given to his son for wedding gifts.

Andrew's mum Christine said: "When the person called at Barnsley Police Station to collect his wallet, the police gave him Andrew's contact details in the hope that he would at least contact Andrew and thank him for his honesty.

"Apparently, this person was attending his son's wedding at the Town Hall and had lost the wallet containing £725 at the Court House pub.

"The money was his son's collection of wedding money.

"This person did not contact Andrew to thank him."
