ANGRY traders have gathered 7,000 signatures on a petition against a planned move of Hoyland market.

One 71-year-old who has been trading in the market for 45 years has slammed the proposed move as 'diabolical'.

He warns any plan to go ahead will destroy the market altogether and is spearheading the petition.

"Traders and customers don't want the market on Duke Street," it says. "Please sign to keep your market in the town or it will be lost."
