Chris Hutchings is claiming no credit for Barnsley's two wins in two games since he became Danny Wilson's assistant manager.
The 56-year-old, who managed Wigan and Bradford in the Premier League, joined the Reds as Micky Mellon's replacement ahead of the victories at Reading and Yeovil.
"I couldn't really have had a better start – and long may it continue – but the boys take all the credit, not me," said Hutchings.
"The boys had been working very hard off the back of a very good result down at Reading and we took our chances at Yeovil. It's all about creating chances and taking chances and, since I've been at the club, that's what the boys have been doing.
"They are playing with confidence and hopefully they can take that into the remaining games. We have got to go into each game with a positive attitude. We're in the battle and we're going to win that battle."
Hutchings lives in Holmfirth and had been to see Barnsley many times this season before getting the call from his old friend Wilson.
"It's a half hour from where I live so I have watched quite a few Barnsley games this season and followed their progress. I was at Ipswich with Jason Scotland so I used to come and watch him sometimes.
"I was delighted when Danny asked me to get involved. He's very experienced. I played with him down at Brighton and we're very close friends. I know his personality and how he works and he knows that from me. He's a fighter and I'm a fighter so we're going to come out scrapping."
