A three-year-old from Royston has become one of the youngest people to gain membership into Mensa.
Sherwyn Sarabi, of East End Crescent, joined the society after taking an IQ test and scoring in the top one per cent of the population.
He took the test in September when he turned three but his family only received the results last Friday.
Sherwyn has amazed doctors and child psychologists with his intelligence and at the age of two, he could read, use an iPad and identify all the flags and countries of the world.
He said his first words at ten months and could name all 2D and 3D shapes at 18 months.
Sherwyn, who attends Rastrick Independent school, Brighouse, has already received his Mensa membership card and certificate.
His mum Amanda said: "He started school full time this month. He's doing all right.
"The teachers have him in class with pupils his own age to improve his social skills but then he also sits in with Year Three (seven to eight-year-olds) pupils for some lessons as well. His reading has improved so much."
Amanda said Sherwyn sits in classes with pupils more than twice his age for lessons in reading and writing.
A spokeswoman for British Mensa says although Sherwyn is not the youngest person to be invited to join the organisation, it is very rare for someone of his age to gain membership.
She confirmed there are only 100 members aged ten or under in the UK, including Sherwyn.
