Smiling Jody Thomas was picked to star in mini-adverts for Morrisons during Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

The 20-year-old from Mapplewell who works on the delicatessen counter at the supermarket, which sponsors the show, beat hundreds of other Morrison's staff for her starring role.

The first clip is of the nine workers getting ready to take part in a gameshow, which is shown before the start of the programme.

Each staff member was filmed showing off their area of expertise, which is shown before and at the end of the ad breaks.

There is also a second group shot of them celebrating their 'win' at the end of the programme.

Jody, of Bar Lane, went to London for filming after a casting audition near Leeds.

She said: "It was an experience. It's something I've never done before and I'm glad I got put forward and got to be a part of it, I really enjoyed.

"I was slightly disappointed I didn't get to meet Ant and Dec, they're brilliant."

Jody was nominated by her father Mick, who works at Morrison's head office.

During her clip she had to make a sandwich by putting her hands through a board which prevented her from seeing what she was doing.

She added: "I didn't know what I was going to be doing until I got there. It took a few takes, but once you've done it a few times it gets easier."

Jody was first seen on television screens on Saturday and her clip will be shown until the series ends.

She said: "My phone was going mental about four seconds of it being shown with people saying they had seen me."

Jody, who has worked at Morrisons for four years, said she enjoyed seeing how an advert was put together.

"It was very interesting being on the set. I was nervous, when I went into hair and make up the woman asked me if I had done my own make up and said I should take it up, which was nice.

"We had a few drinks with the producers the night before and were asking them why we had been picked. I suppose it was our personality and the way we come across on camera."
