Barnsley Sunday League Division Two leaders FC Boatmans dropped points for the second successive match after conceding two penalties in a 2-2 draw at mid-table Shafton.

Goals from Jamie Sutton and Paul Bell twice put Boatmans ahead but they were pegged back on both occasions by successful Dave Roberts spot-kicks following clumsy challenges from goalkeeper Chris Sheldon on Josh Milnes and substitute Adam Bailey on Chris Seres.

Bullz Head had the chance to cut Boatmans’ lead to one point but suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at home to lowly Taylormade Signs.

Largo pulled further away from the Division Five relegation zone with a 4-3 home win over mid-table Carlton Athletic in a thrilling match. Largo flew into a 4-0 lead thanks to a brace by Jack Hawkes and goals for Adam and Matthew Wordsworth. The visitors scored three times in the last half an hour but Largo held on to win.

Most of the matches were called off on Sunday after the council refused to allow any games to be played on their pitches. There was no action involving town teams on Saturday.

On Wednesday, Kingstone United were dumped out of the County Senior League Cup with an 8-1 loss at Handsworth. Playing a side two divisions above them, United's only goal came from a Thompson penalty. Handsworth will now take on Houghton Main in the last four while the other semi-final is between Penistone Church and Sheffield Bankers.
