Worsbrough Bridge bounced back from a 5-1 defeat at Clipstone on Saturday – which killed their hopes of promotion from the North East Counties Division One – with a 4-1 win against Rossington Main on Tuesday.

There were four goals in the final five minutes of the first half on Tuesday as Luke Forgione, Chris White and Adam Podmore made it 3-1 to Bridge. Lee Garside completed the rout.

In the South Yorkshire Amateur League, Haydn Musgrave hit four goals and Ben McLee scored a hat-trick as Ardsley Albion crushed Horse and Groom 10-0 in their biggest win of the season.

The other scorers were Ryan Cawley, Jordan Portman and Ben Greenoff.

In the County Senior Premier League, Scott James scored the only goal as Houghton Main won 1-0 at local rivals Penistone Church. The title race now looks to be between leaders Oughtibridge and second-placed Handsworth who beat relegation threatened Wombwell Main 3-1.

Wombwell's Sunday side beat The Devonshire in the Sheffield Senior Cup quarter-finals as Simon Chadburn levelled with a 35-yard screamer then whipped in a last-minute free-kick which Lee Angel turned in.
