A MAN has died after being struck by a heavy goods vehicle on Dodworth Road, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to reports of a collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a pedestrian on Dodworth Road at about 9.55 this morning (Saturday).
“The pedestrian was sadly pronounced dead at the scene,” a police spokesman said.
“The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Dodworth Road was closed while the incident was dealt with but has now been re-opened.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 375 of February 13.
