Paddy McCourt's call-up for Northern Ireland is great news for Barnsley and the midfielder, says Danny Wilson.

The 30-year-old is in the squad for his country's friendly in Cyprus on Wednesday. Wilson, who played for Northern Ireland, said: "We didn't know if Paddy would go because he has been carrying an ankle problem but it looks like he will go now."

McCourt has struggled to break into the team under Wilson as has Marcus Pedersen who has been called up for a Norway development team.

Goalkeeper Christian Dibble, 19, has been called into the Wales under 21s squad to face England.
