Jacob Mellis says Barnsley are good enough to stay up even if they don’t make any signings until the end of the season.

Manager David Flitcroft is attempting to add to his squad in the loan market but attacking midfielder Mellis, who turned 22 earlier this month, says the Reds already possess enough quality to claw back the four-point gap between themselves and safety.

He said: “We have got enough even if they don’t bring anyone else in.  “You have seen what the young lads like Reuben (Noble-Lazarus) and Rosey (Danny Rose) can do if they come in. “We see in training every day that Rosey is a poacher.

"

We have got some great young players who are learning the game. The energy we have is very good.No one is thinking about moving on to other clubs. If it happens it happens and if it doesn’t it doesn’t. We are just doing all we can to keep the football club up.”
