BARNSLEY East MP Michael Dugher is backing child cancer awareness month to help break down barriers faced by children diagnosed with the illness.

The campaign, which is being co-ordinated by the charity CLIC Sargent, aims to help the 10 children who are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every day.

Mr Dugher said: "I have the upmost sympathy for any family that are hit with the devastating news that their child has cancer.

"Throughout September people have the opportunity for all of us to show our support to these families by raising awareness of some of the key issues they face."
