DEARNE MP John Healey has expressed his concern at falling wages and the over-reliance of the jobs' market on temporary work.

While welcoming small falls in the overall unemployment figure across Yorkshire, Labour MPs have highlighted that one in three workers in Yorkshire is in part-time or temporary work.

More than a third say they're only doing temporary work because they cannot find a permanent position.

Annual wages in Barnsley have fallen by £2,000 (eight per cent) in the last three years and youth and long-ter

m unemployment continues to increase.

Mr Healey said: "We need more than a temporary fix to Yorkshire's jobs market. We need the government to do more to create permanent opportunities on decent pay."
