Multi-million pound town centre regeneration complete

THE final phase of a multi-million pound town centre regeneration scheme has been completed with the opening of Penistone's 'absolutely fabulous' gateway development.
Barnsley Council leader Sir Steve Houghton said the new commercial complex, on St Mary's Street, will help ensure Penistone is a thriving market town as he unveiled a plaque to officially open 'Penistone 1'.
The Dransfield Properties development contains seven shop units and eight offices and concludes the £15m Penistone regeneration project, which also saw the construction of Tesco and the town's market barn.
