Ipswich striker Frank Nouble is eager to the Barnsley fans his best form on Saturday after admitting they did not see it during either of his two spells at Oakwell.

The 21-year-old made five starts for Keith Hill towards the end of last season and four for Mark Robins during the previous campaign, failing to score in either spell. He joined Wolves last summer before moving to Ipswich last week.

Nouble told the Chronicle: “I had a good time when I was at Barnsley and I have a lot of respect for everyone there.I speak to Jacob Mellis on the phone almost every day and it will be good to see the lads on Saturday.

"I don’t think the Barnsley fans saw the best of me because I only had four or five games and I was put into a side that was not really firing. I wish I could have stayed longer but it didn’t work out and now I am at Ipswich. It is a big game for us. I think any club in the bottom half of the league could go down but I hope Ipswich and Barnsley stay up.”
