A MARKET trader in Wombwell is annoyed about receiving a series of tickets for parking in the same spot he has done for more than 20 years.

Ernie Cawley, 57, has a long association with the Wombwell High Street market but says this is the first time he has encountered problems with parking.

Ernie says his van has to slightly encroach into the bus stop as he claims he cannot possibly unload his stock in the loading bays across the road.

He has received three tickets in a month but says he has no alternative.

"How am I supposed to walk across the road with my stock? I'd have to make a hundred trips and would get run over," he said.

"I've got three tickets in no time at all and they are £35 at a time.  I have always parked there in the past and never had any problems."There's room for two buses to pull in and out at any time. I do not see what the problem is."
