A RECRUITMENT drive has been launched to fill 40 posts being created at the new £750m waste treatment plant at Manvers.

Available jobs include technical, managerial, engineering, skilled, semi-skilled and maintenance roles at the development which will be commissioned early next year and be fully operational by July 2015.

Each household in Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham throws away the equivalent of almost a tonne of rubbish each year.

This waste will be treated at the Manvers facility instead of being sent to landfill.

The plant is being built by 3SE, a partnership of Shanks Group and SSE on behalf of the Barnsley Doncaster Rotherham Waste Partnership.
