Barnsley threw away the lead to lose 4-1 at home to Nottingham Forest at Oakwell on Saturday.

It was former Forest man Marlon Harewood who gave the hosts the lead, rounding Lee Camp to slot home after a perfect through-ball from Jacob Mellis. Harewood stuck to his promise of refusing to celebrate against his ex club.

Forest equalised on 35 minutes when centre-half Greg Halford's weak left-footed strike hit Scott Wiseman and deflected past Ben Alnwick.

Forest then went in front on when Billy Sharp's effort fell straight into the path of his strike partner Simon Cox, who tapped in.

The visitors notched a third when Chris Cohan's 25-yard strike flew into the top right hand corner. Alnwick looked to have saved it but the ball slipped through his hands and into the net.

The second half was quiet and Forest grabbed a fourth on 78 minutes when Cox's pass was met by Jermaine Jenas, who chipped the ball over Alnwick to seal the points.
