A MOBILE library is asking people in Hoyland area to make more use of its services.

The library visits Hoyland on Tuesdays but no-one turned up this week when it parked up at Hoyland Common working men's club.

Gill Carpenter, senior mobile library assistant, said: "If the street is busy we park round the back of the club in the car park which is maybe why people did not find us.

"We used to go to Chapel Street in Hoyland but got down to just two people visiting - then they decided they weren't going to come any more."

The mobile library also goes to Elsecar, Tankersley and Pilley and on Thursdays, stops in Blacker Hill and Jump. It halts at Wentworth Rd, Blacker Hill, from 11.25am to 11.45am and Hall Avenue, Jump, from 11.55am to 12.10pm (next visits are on June 19).

The next visit to Hoyland Common working men's club is June 24 from 10.40am to 10.55am.
