THE BARNSLEY Chronicle is offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest and convinction of the masked men who burst into a pensioners home, sprayed liquid in his eyes and made off with his life savings.

Harvey Clemit, 80, is now too scared to return to the home he loves and is staying with family in Bournemouth after the terrifying attack in his home in Kendray, on Monday.

It left him extremely shaken and he is now refusing to return to Barnsley.

The Barnsley Chronicle is now offering a reward of £1,101 - £1 more than the attackers stole - for information that leads to the successful arrest and conviction of the culprits.

Editor Andrew Harrod said: "Maybe if we can get the thugs responsible off the streets, Harvey might eventually feel more comfortable about returning to the home he loves."
