A ROAD in Wombwell will have to be resurfaced again because such a bad job was done first time around, the council has admitted.

Wombwell's councillors had complained the resurfacing that took place on Summer Lane this month had left the road in a poor state.

An inspection by engineering service officers has left the council with no option but to return to the site and carry out the work again.

Coun Roy Miller admitted: "Problems had occurred during the carriageway laying process linked to the weather conditions, in particular exceptionally wet weather."
