A TEENAGER has been turned away from school for having an 'extreme' hairstyle.
Georgia Wells-Newton, 16, has left Horizon Community College and will return only to take her GCSE exams but she was told to go home when she went in for her final classes because of the pink dye in her hair.
She says she has missed the chance to spend her last week with her friends and never thought the dye would land her in trouble.
School principal Nick Bowen said: "Our rules are very clear, and the pupils all know you can't have unnatural colours in your hair."We've had pupils with bright red hair too. It's not a case of 'us' keeping them off school, the pupils know that if they choose to do this, they have to accept the consequences themselves.
"We try and maintain a professional environment in school. We need pupils to take pride in their appearance, take pride in their uniform."
