A BARUGH Green university student has won a national photography competition run by the RNLI.

Alex Wilkinson, 22, came out top in the My Coast competition with this stunning image, called RNLI Lookout, of Scarborough lifeboat station.

The ten shortlisted images were uploaded to the RNLI Facebook page for the winner to be decided by public vote. Alex's "ethereal" photo received 34 per cent of the votes and got more than 1,400 likes.Alex, a former student at Penistone Grammar, will win photographic equipment and said he captured his photo at Scarborough while on a field trip from university.
