It's as easy as one, two, three for Josh Clamp.

The 13-year-old Barnsley Academy pupil got a grade C in maths yesterday — despite being entered for the exam three years early.

“I thought I was going to get a D or an E so it was good when I opened it and saw I had a C,” he said.

“The teachers put a couple of us forward for it early. I’m going to keep doing maths and I really hope I can get an A* in the end.”

Golf fan Josh, of Nottingham Close, Ardsley, celebrated by playing a round with dad Andrew yesterday. Mum Belinda Hydes-Clamp said he had worked hard and the family were very proud.

“He did quite a bit of revision for it, they sent him a lot of past papers to do. We’re all chuffed to bits for him. I think he takes after his dad with the maths, it certainly wasn’t me.”
