THE Lamproom Youth Theatre’s ‘Lytes’ group has found its ‘Annie’ after an appeal in the Chronicle.
Open auditions were held for the upcoming production of Annie. Alex Robinson read the article and begged her mum to let her have a go.
She follows in her siblings Leah and Lauren’s footsteps, with both appearing at the Lamproom theatre in past productions.
Alex makes her debut having performed in dance competitions but never theatre.
Louise Armitage, drama tutor and director, said: “She stood out with her personality and stage presence, a real natural.
“The Lytes group historically has produced some fantastic shows. Annie is sure to be a five-star production.”
Alex is partnered with Jack the dog. It’s not his first appearance at The Lamproom, he first appeared in Guys and Dolls and stole the show.
The show runs from January 31 to February 3. Tickets are available at The Lamproom theatre box office.
