A TALENTED dancer from Silkstone is heading to Los Angeles for rehearsals ready for her 17-month 'gig' aboard a cruise liner.

Chloe Lucas has won a contract to dance onboard an Australian liner and she is really excited about her first trip 'down under', but before then she will spend five weeks rehearsing in LA.

"I'm really excited, but quite nervous at the same time", said former Penistone Grammar pupil Chloe, 20, of Adkin Royd. "It's a huge opportunity, and I'll get to see the world too. We'll be touring around Australia, New Zealand, and Asia."

Chloe trained with local dance teacher Maria Penrose, before studying at the SLP stage school.

She graduated last year and has already done professional work including two pantomimes.
