A TEENAGER from Wombwell has died while on holiday in Mexico.
Lauren Carroll, 19, of Rose Grove, had been part of a large local party who travelled to the Caribbean coastal resort Cancun for a wedding.
She reportedly complained of feeling unwell and was later found dead in her apartment last Wednesday.
A foreign office statement said: "We are aware of the death of a British national on May 14.
"We are providing consulate assistance to the family at this difficult time."
Tributes were paid to her on her personal Facebook account. Diane Dent wrote: "A beautiful young lady, will be sadly missed.""Will miss you Lauren. Fly high with the angels love," added Jason Hendley.
Lauren was flown back to Barnsley last week. It is not yet known whether an inquest will be held.
