A PROLIFIC writer of reviews on the website Trip Advisor is facing legal action over a scathing review of a restaurant which claims he tried to blackmail into giving him freebies.
Businessman Chris Dobson, of Huddersfield Road, Haigh, was named last year's top reviewer on the site.
But now Sarah Bird, director of the Double Barrel Real Steakhouse and Grill in Thurcroft, near Rotherham, has given his review of her restaurant to a solicitor, claiming it contains libellous material.
She said: "He came in talking about Trip Advisor from the get-go. His actual words to me were 'are you the person who deals with Trip Advisor?
"It was a rather strange conversation to be honest."
Mr Hobson has called the claims 'ridiculous' but declined to speak to the Chronicle about it.
