TELEVISION’S Bargain Hunt team was in Elsecar this week to film a show for a forthcoming series of the lunchtime favourite.

The long-running BBC1 game show - which pitches two teams against each other to make cash from buying wisely at antiques events - was at Elsecar Heritage Centre, home to a large antiques emporium.

The show is now fronted by four different presenters and Glaswegian Natasha Raskin Sharp - an auctioneer and radio presenter when not work in television - was on her first visit to Barnsley.

She said: “We get to visit every part of the country and the best thing about the job is travelling and meeting these lovely people.”

Two ‘experts’ were used to guide the teams around dealers’ offerings at Elsecar, with the items they selected to be auctioned later - with the sums they raise deciding the winner.

Meanwhile, Natasha was given a crash course in local history, with a display by local longsword dancers and information about a war hero from the district, which will form a ‘historical interlude’, which is a familiar part of the show.

The completed edition will be broadcast later.
