MORE than a dozen vehicles in Hoyland and Blacker Hill had their tyres slashed in a spate of attacks.

The first incidents happened in February when five cars were hit but now the number is rising.

The offender targeted cars and vans on Green Street, Barber Street, Stead Lane, West Street, Greenside and Elm Street in Hoyland.

 

Inspector Simon Leake, of the Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "We are working hard to identify the culprit and would ask anyone with information about any of these attacks to get in touch with the police and help us help those victims who have had their vehicles damaged.

"We will continue to work closely with the community and schools to raise awareness of the crimes."
