STAFF at a town centre pawnbroker and jewellers Herbert Brown face an uncertain future after it went into administration.
Four staff at the Barnsley shop on Peel Street have been left at risk of redundancy.
Herbert Brown specialises in pawnbroking, gold buying, cheque cashing and unsecured lending.
Administrator Mike Jervis said: "We plan to sell all or part of the business to protect as many jobs as possible.
"Every branch will initially remain open as sale discussions progress. This also enables customers to continue to redeem their goods as normal as they pay off their loans."

Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
