A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a Wath man was shot.

 

Nathan Wingfield, of no fixed address, appeared at Rotherham Magistrates' Court on Saturday after being arrested on Thursday.

 

He was charged with the attempted murder of Tyrone Woodhead, 42, of Doncaster Road, Wath who was shot on September 20.

 

Wingfield was also charged with robbery, relating to a separate incident in Wath on September 20 and aggravated burglary relating to an incident in Bentley, Doncaster on September 12.

 

South Yorkshire Police officers believe the shooting was a targeted incident and continue to search for another man.

 

Mr Woodhead remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
