Barnsley manager Danny Wilson says youngsters such as Reuben Noble-Lazarus, Paul Digby and Danny Rose are unlikely to feature for Barnsley this season.
When he took over as manager, Wilson said he would play them but only Digby has been used.
The manager said: "We have got a squad with some very good young players but we have to put the 11 out that will win the game and I think experience is key at this time in the season.
"This isn't the time to blood young players. You need time to do that and we haven't got time."
